Qatari bourse closes in red

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange closed Monday in the red zone, as it slipped 0.36% or more than 35 points to the level of 9,892.32 points.

The All Share Index decreased 0.36% to 2,685.95 points, and Al Rayan Islamic Index plummeted 0.17% to 3,651.49 points.

Turnover rose 1.4% to QAR 404.8 million from QAR 399.13 million yesterday. Trading volume reached 10.07 million shares through 6,470 trades, compared to 12.14 million shares exchanged on Sunday through 5,310 transactions.

The transportation was the worst performing sector after falling 0.67%, while the insurance was the best after rising 0.45%.

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution topped decliners with a fall of 6.45%, whereas Zad Holding headed gainers by adding 3.66%.

Gulf International made the biggest trading value activity with a liquidity of QAR 40.8 million. While Ezdan Holding recorded the largest trading volume activity with 1.5 million traded shares.

The bourse’s main index closed Sunday at the level of 9,927.94 after rising 0.82% or 80 points.
