Qatari bourse closes in red

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined at Monday’s close by 0.09% or 9.48 points to the level of 10,950.34 points.

The index was backed by the rise in some blue chips as QIB, Ezdan and QNB rose 0.91%, 0.57% and 0.23% respectively.

Trading volume shrank to 7.25 million shares from 12.64 million shares exchanged on Sunday, turnover also decreased to QAR 242.42 million from QAR 310.2 million.

Three sectors closed in red, topped by the real estate sector after dropping 0.24% due to a fall of 1.78% in Mazaya Qatar.

Meanwhile, four sectors closed in green led by the insurance sector, up 0.54%, backed by an increase of 2.25% in Qatar Islamic Insurance.

Mazaya Qatar made the biggest trading volume activity with 1.41 million shares, whereas Barwa Real Estate made the highest turnover of QAR 24.8 million.
