Qatari bourse closes on positive note

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index closed Sunday’s trading at the level of 9,927.94 points after rising 0.82% or 80.58 points.

The All Share Index also leapt 0.83% to 2,695.63 points, and Al Rayan Islamic Index edged up 1.22% to 3,657.86 points.

Turnover increased 21.3% to QAR 399.13 million from QAR 328.96 million on Thursday. Trading volume reached 12.14 million shares through 5,310 trades, compared to 10.81 million shares exchanged on Thursday through 5,310 transactions.

The bourse’s main sectors moved up collectively, topped by consumer goods and services, real estate and industrial as they grew 2.26%, 1.43% and 0.99% respectively, while the insurance sector came least in the green list with a rise of 0.32%.

Islamic Holding was the best performing share after adding 7.67%, but Al Khaliji Commercial Bank was the worst with a drop of 1.52%.

Gulf International was the most active in terms of trading value with liquidity of more than QAR 84 million, while Salam International Investment recorded the largest trading volume activity with 2.68 million shares.

The bourse’s main index declined on Thursday 0.71% or 70.16 points to 9,847.36 points.
