Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday’s session on a negative note as its benchmark index fell by 0.21% or 22.22 points to the level of 10,367.74 points.
The fall came amid a mixed performance by heavyweights as QNB, Ezdan and Industries Qatar rose by 0.39%, 0.12% and 0.19% respectively, while Masraf Al Rayan declined by 1.13%, Qatar Insurance slid 0.57% and Ooredoo retreated 0.31%.
Trading volume decreased to 2.45 million shares from 6.3 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also declined to QAR 73.95 million from QAR 190.43 million.
The bourse’s sectors closed collectively in red, topped by the transportation and insurance sectors with a fall of 0.65% and 0.55% respectively.
The consumer goods sector fell 0.27%, the real estate sector shrank 0.07% and the banking sector slid 0.06%.
National Leasing Holding topped gainers with a rise of 4.36%, while Doha Insurance led decliners with a 3.37% fall.
QNB made the highest liquidity of QAR 8.07 million, while Vodafone Qatar was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 549,700 shares.
