Qatari bourse falls in week

Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) lost 1.9% or 204.25 points to reach 10,721.15 points by the week ended 2 March as compared to 10,925.40 points in the week ended 23 February.

Liquidity increased by 14.7% to total QAR 2.387 billion from QAR 2.08 billion in the past week, as trading volume gained 8.5% to stand at 61.37 million shares from 56.6 million in the previous week.

QSE’s market cap dropped 1.97% to QAR 577.21 billion from QAR 588.82 billion in the prior week.

The banks sector topped the gainers with 33.47%, followed by the industrial, real estate, and insurance sectors with a rise of 19.68%, 14.93%, and 11.9%, respectively.

During this week, QNB was the most active stock with a share accounting for 10.43% of the overall liquidity.
