Qatari bourse loses 0.44% at close

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s session falling by 0.44% or 47.68 points to the level of 10,880.15 points.

Trading volume decreased to 10.3 million shares from 16.39 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also shrank to QAR 335.81 million from QAR 484.73 million.

The real estate sector dropped 1.01%, pressured by a 1.84% in Ezdan, the worst performing stock, and 0.14% in Mazaya Qatar. The industrial sector retreated 0.53% as Aamal declined 1.17%.

Meanwhile, the consumer goods and services sector rose 0.66% and the telecom sector advanced 0.33%.

Qatar First Bank was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 1.62 million shares, while Medicare, up 2.09%, made the highest turnover of QAR 48.9 million.
