Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index fell during October by 2.52% or 262.51 points to the level of 10,172.95 points, compared to 10,435.46 points in September.
Trading volume decreased 7% to 122.59 million shares from 131.8 million shares exchanged in September; turnover also shrank 24.5% to QAR 4.48 billion from QAR 5.93 billion.
The market capitalisation declined in October by 2.1% or QAR 11.71 billion to QAR 549.03 billion ($150.65 billion) from QAR 560.47 billion ($153.86 billion) in September.
Out of 44 companies, 9 stocks closed the month in green, while 34 others declined and the one remaining was flat.
The banks stocks made the highest trading volume activity with 25.66% of the total trading volume, followed by the telecom sector with 25.06%.
