Qatari bourse loses 272 points

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index closed Monday with a decline of 2.64% or about 272.04 points to the level of 10,041.70 points.

Also, Al Rayan Islamic Index slipped 2.78% to 3,701.43 points and the All Shares Index dived 2.55% to 2,679.74 points.

Trading volume reached 3.05 million shares worth QAR 108.81 million through 2,317 trades, versus yesterday’s 2.01 million shares exchanged at QAR 37.43 million through 1,321 trades.

The bourse’s main sectors fell collectively, topped by real estate and banking as they moved down 3.75% and 2.68%, respectively.

Out of 39 companies saw trading, only one share closed higher, 37 shrank, and the one remaining was flat.

Qatar and Oman Investment led the gainers with a growth of 0.25%, while Zad Holding headed the decliners with a 8.02% drop.

Vodafone Qatar was the most active in terms of volume with about 424,900 shares traded, whereas Gulf International generated about QAR 18 million to make the biggest value.

The bourse’s main index closed Sunday with a decline of 1.11% or 115.62 points to the level of 10,313.74 points.
