Qatari bourse loses 82 pts

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s trading in the red zone after falling 0.83% or 82.01 points to the level of 9,836.96 points.

The banking sector was the worst performer with a drop of 0.98%, dragged by the decline in QNB, Masraf Al Rayan and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) by 1.13%, 1.46% and 0.73% respectively, the latter made the highest liquidity with QAR 43.87 million.

The insurance sector fell 1.01% as Qatar Islamic Insurance was the top losers after shrinking 3%.

The real estate sector decreased 0.79%, pressured by a 1.05% fall in Ezdan.

Trading volume retreated to 4.89 million shares from 8.94 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, Turnover also decreased to QAR 171.64 million from QAR 300.06 million.

Vodafone Qatar was the most traded stock with a volume of 625,040 shares exchanged at QAR 6.69 million. The stock fell 0.93%.
