Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index rose in Sunday’s early trading by 0.16% or 15.69 points to the level of 9,764.47 points.
Al Rayan Islamic Index and All Share Index advanced by 0.31% and 0.12% respectively.
Trading volume reached 941,800 shares that were exchanged through 701 transactions, with a turnover of QAR 32.4 million.
Telecom was the best performing sector after rising 0.5% as Ooredoo grew 0.7%.
The industrial sector edged up 0.43% thanks to Qatar Investors Group and Qatar Electricity and Water as they increased 2% and 1.38% respectively.
On the other hand, insurance was the worst performing sector with a fall of 0.84%, pressured by Islamic Insurance and Qatar Insurance.
Medicare Group topped gainers by adding 2.42%, while Al Khalij Commercial Bank led decliners after shrinking 2.92%.
Vodafone Qatar was the heaviest-traded with 189,700 shares exchanged at QAR 2.16 million. The stock slid 0.35%.
Meanwhile, Investors Group made the highest liquidity of QAR 8.7 million through exchanging 170,500 shares. The stock rose by 2%.
The index fell on Thursday by 1.08%, hitting its lowest level since mid-February 2016.
