Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index fell in Monday’s early trading by 0.27% or 27 points to the level of 9,950.71 points.
Trading volume reached 232,000 shares exchanged by 09:55am Doha time through 200 transactions, making a turnover of QAR 7 million.
Four sectors opened in red, topped by the banking sector with a fall of 0.61%, pressured by a 1.26% decrease in QNB.
The industrial sector shrank 0.1% due to the drop in Gulf International and Mesaieed by 1.3% and 0.39% respectively.
On the flipside, the consumer goods and services sector grew 0.8%, backed by the rise in Woqod and Al Meera.
Qatar Islamic Insurance, down 2.9%, was the worst performing stock, while Qatar Oman Investment topped gainers with a growth of 2.8%.
Gulf International was the largest-traded stock as 66,700 shares were exchanged at QAR 2.02 million.
