Doha – Mubasher: The Qatari bourse closed Tuesday with a sharp fall, as the main index ended trading at 10,096.51 points after shrinking 3.09% or 322 points.
Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) Al Rayan Islamic Index plummeted 2.94% to 3,740.15 points, and the All Shares Index slipped 3.01% to 2,692.15 points.
Trading volume reached about 8.78 million shares worth about QAR 380.54 million through 5,178 trades.
“Support levels ranged today between 9500 and 1,000 points, while the resistances were 10,100, 10,200 and 10,250 points,” Ayoub Eshban, financial analyst and economic advisor, explained to Mubasher.
QSE’s sectors dropped semi-collectively, topped by insurance with a 4.47% decrease, while transportation came alone on the green list with 0.94% higher.
Forty companies saw their shares being traded, of which there were six advancers, 30 fallers and four unchanged.
Qatar Gas Transport Company was the top share with a growth 1.47%, while Gulf General Cooperative Insurance was the weakest share after declining by 9.91%.
Rayan Bank topped trading values and volumes with about 1.87 million shares worth around QAR 68.5 million. The stock declined 4.6%.
The QSE’s main index closed Monday with a decline of 0.78% or about 81.49 points, reaching the level of 10,418.47 points.
