Qatari bourse rises 0.25% at close

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index closed Tuesday’s trading with a rise of 0.25% or 26.05 points to the level of 10,431.25 points, compared to Monday’s closing level.

The index was backed by the rise in QNB, Industries Qatar and QIB by 0.45%, 0.56% and 0.39% respectively.

Trading volume declined to 3.8 million shares from 8.42 million shares exchanged yesterday, turnover also decreased to QAR 155.08 million from QAR 325.97 million.

The telecom sector was the best performer after rising by 1.6%, backed by a growth of 1.89% in Ooredoo. The stock made the highest liquidity of QAR 19.65 million.

The transportation sector leapt 1.05% as Nakilat advanced 2.14%, the insurance sector increased 0.49% as Doha Insurance topped gainers by adding 4.48%.

The Industrial and banking sectors also rose by 0.33% and 0.25% respectively.

On the flipside, the real estate sector shrank 0.67% due to the fall in Ezdan and Barwa Real Estate by 1% and 0.3% respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector declined 0.13% as Qatar Cinema led decliners with a fall of 4.83%.
