Qatari bourse sees positive performance in week

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) gained 32.0% or 32.63 points to reach 10,389.96 points by the week ended 13 October as compared to 10,357.33 points in the previous week.

QSE’s market cap levelled up 0.27% to QAR 558.13 billion ($153.12 billion) this week from QAR 556.63 billion ($152.71 billion) in the past week.

Liquidity shrank 20.3% to QAR 832.75 million, as trading volume decreased 16.8% to 23.91 million shares.

The telecom sector topped four gainers with 3.09%, followed by the transportation, banks, and industrial sectors with 1.6%, 0.37%, and 0.03% respectively.

Meanwhile, the real estate sector led three decliners with 1.06%, followed by the services and consumer goods as well as the insurance sector with a fall of 0.61% and 0.01% respectively.

Over this week, 19 shares were in green topped by Ooredoo which gained 4.03%, while 23 stocks fell headed by Qatar for Cinema which lost 4.83%.

Qatari Investors Group recorded the highest liquidity this week with a share of 16.56%, followed by Ooredoo and QNB which accounted for 9.29% and 7.86% respectively of the market’s trading value.
