Qatari bourse sheds 151 pts at close

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading at the level of 10,597.22 points, losing 1.4% or 150.61 points.

Trading volume increased to 8.7 million shares from 6.16 million shares exchanged on Monday, turnover also rose to QAR 247.23 million from QAR 183.26 million.

The index was pressured by the fall of some blue chips as Industries Qatar, Ezdan and QNB declined 2.55%, 1.89% and 1.51% respectively.

Six sectors closed in red topped by the industrial sector, down 1.7%, as Gulf International shrank 2.44%.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose alone by 0.86%, backed by an increase of 1.95% and 1.06% respectively.

Ahli Bank topped losers after falling 5.26%, while Zad Holding, up 2.72%, was the top gainer.

Ezdan Holding led the trading activity with a volume of 2.9 million shares exchanged at QAR 43.61 million.
