Qatari bourse slips 1.6%; consumer goods sole gainer

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange continued its bearish performance on Thursday, pressured by the decline of most sectors.

QE Index fell by 1.6% or 166.78 points to close at 10,285.5 points, while Rayan Islamic Index shed 1.4% to 3,945.26 points and the All Share Index was off 1.22% to 2,830.53 points.

Thursday’s traded volume declined by 20.1% to 9.72 million shares, while traded value decreased by 17.3% to QAR 338.11 million.

Six sectors were in red, led by insurance (-2.73%), then real estate (-2.05%) and telecoms (-1.43%). Banks fell by 1.12%, followed by industrials (-0.78%) and finally transportation (-0.49%).

Consumer goods and services were the sole advancer, with a rise of 0.08%.
