Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed the last week in February on a negative note, as it plunged 1.2% or 119.89 points to the level of 9,847.36 points, 9,967.25 points last week.
Al Rayan Islamic Index and the All Share Index rose 2.26% and 0.6% to 3,613.76 points and 2,673.51 points respectively.
Turnover increased 30.3% to QAR 2.02 billion from QAR 1.55 billion last week. Trading volume reached 57.91 million shares exchanged through 28,760 transactions.
The market value jumped 1.07% to QAR 523.34 billion, versus QAR 529.03 billion last week.
The banking and insurance sectors dipped 1.45% and 0.98% respectively, while the transportation, industrial and consumer goods and services sector leapt 3.17%, 2.62% and 1.35% respectively.
Gulf International was the most active share in the week with a trading volume of 10.49 million shares exchanged at QAR 359.62 million.
Qatar Insurance was the top decliner after shrinking 11.98%, while Qatari Investors Group was the best performer by adding 12.06%.
