Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined on Tuesday by 0.92% or 89.66 points to the level of 9,704.36 points, extending its losses for the third session in a row.
Trading volume decreased by 8.46% to 2.38 million shares from 2.6 million shares exchanged on Sunday, while turnover rose 10.6% to QAR 87.7 million from QAR 73.24 million.
The index was pressured by the drop in five sectors, topped by the real estate sector with a fall of 2.29% led decliners with a 3.24% decrease.
The insurance, industrial and transportation sectors also fell by 1.25%, 0.78% and 0.43% respectively.
The banking sector retreated 0.23% as QNB and Qatar Islamic Bank fell 0.07% and 0.42% respectively, the latter made the highest liquidity of QAR 21.11 million.
Meanwhile, the consumer goods and telecom sectors rose 0.16% and 0.08% respectively.
National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) topped the green list by adding 1.25%.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock with 315,850 shares.
