Qatari index trims mid-session losses at close

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) trimmed its losses in Monday’s mid-session, as it dipped 0.13% or 10.93 points to ,516.82 points at close.

Al Rayan Islamic Index and The All Shares Index dropped 0.91% and 0.53% to 3,033.44 and 2,269.16 points respectively.

Trading volume came to 9.99 million shares worth QAR 306.93 million through 6,156 trades, versus 12.30 million shares exchanged yesterday at QAR 374.01 million through 5,186 transactions.

The services sector was worst performer as it fell 1.69%, while the telecom was the best rose 5.48%.

Out of 42 companies, 15 shares closed in green and 24 others finished trading in red.

Dlala Holding topped losers by 7.07%, and Qatar National Bank Al Ahli was the top gainer by 6.98%.

Vodafone Qatar and QNB made the biggest trading volume and trading value activities through 1.3 million traded shares and QAR 47 million respectively.

The bourse’s benchmark index closed yesterday with a sharp fall of 7.16% or 657.37 points to the level of 8,527.75 points.
