Mubasher: Qatar’s investments in the UK reached GBP 38.5 billion ($50.37 billion), Lord Mayor of London Charles Edward Beck Bowman (Alderman) said.
“Qatar represents a natural regional partner for British businesses looking to expand internationally,” Alderman said.
The Gulf nation has recently invested GBP 3.5 billion in the UK, representing 70% of Qatar’s new investments in the European nation amounted to $5 billion, Alderman added on the sideline of the Qatar British Business Forum.
“There are huge opportunities for collaboration between the UK and Qatar, and trade and investment already amount to $8bn a year” Alderman noted.
Both parties are working on enhancing cooperation in the field of economy, trade, and investment.
Moreover, UK is planning to expand cooperation in five main points topped by the reinsurance sector, and help Qatar to achieve its vision 2030 and its projects for the World Cup 2022, Alderman noted.
