Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) dropped on Wednesday by 0.01% or 0.72 point to the level of 10,009.95 points.
Turnover decreased 27.6% to QAR 235.04 million from QAR 324.71 million on Tuesday. Trading volume also shrank 18.5% to 8.12 million shares from 9.96 million shares.
The insurance and transportation were the best performing sectors as they grew 1.33% and 0.32% respectively.
The banking sector advanced 0.28% as Ahli Bank topped gainers by adding 7.5%.
The real estate sector rose 0.09% with a 0.91% growth in United Development.
The telecom sector made the lowest gains with an increase of 0.07% as Vodafone Qatar added 1.17%.
On the other hand, the industrial and consumer goods sectors fell alone by 0.47% and 0.08%.
Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution led decliners after dropping 7.9%.
Vodafone Qatar, whic added 1.17%, was the largest-traded stock with 2.24 million shares exchanged at QAR 24.71 million.
Gulf International made the highest liquidity of QAR 41.53 million through exchanging 1.09 million shares. The stock rose 0.13%.
The bourse’s benchmark index grew yesterday by 0.14% or 14.22 points to the level of 10,010.67 points.
