Qatari market gains 65 pts at open

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index grew in Tuesday’s early trading by 0.69% or 65.44 points to the level of 9,617.48 points.

Trading volume came to 427,700 shares exchanged at QAR 13.9 million through 387 transactions.

The telecom and banking were the best performing sectors after rising 1.51% and 1% respectively, while the consumer goods and transportation sectors were the worst as they fell by 0.31% and 0.24% respectively.

Al Khalij Takaful topped gainers with a growth of 3% as 500,000 shares were exchanged at QAR 12,500.

Meanwhile, Al Meera led decliners with a 2% decrease through exchanging 53 shares at QAR 10,600.

Gulf International made the highest activity with 185,400 traded shares and a liquidity of QAR 7 million.

The index closed yesterday at the level of 9,675.66 points.
