Qatari market inches up 0.06% at close

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday with a slight rise of 0.06% or 5.5 points to the level of 9,913.32 points.

Also, Al Rayan Islamic Index edged up 0.26% to 3,532.07 points, and the All Share Index grew 0.32% to 2,655.23 points.

Turnover increased 8.2% to QAR 495.97 million, compared to QAR 458.48 million on Sunday. Trading volume came to 14.58 million shares exchanged through 6,140 trades, versus 12.89 million shares exchanged yesterday through 5,180 transactions.

The industrial sector grew 2.22%, the day’s strongest performance, followed by transportation, and consumer goods and services sectors after adding 1.13% and 0.67% respectively.

However, the real estate was the worst performing sector as it dipped 0.69%, followed by banking (-0.59%), insurance (-0.04%) and telecom (-0.02%).

Gulf International and Qatari Investors Group topped gainers after slipping respectively by 10% , while Gulf Warehouses was the worst performing share as it dropped 4.77%.

Gulf International was the most active with a trading volume of 3.67 million shares worth QAR 125.67 million.

The benchmark index dropped yesterday 0.6% or 59.43 points to the level of 9,907.82 points.
