Qatari shares close 133 points higher

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) rose on Thursday by 1.33% or 133.47 points to the level of 10,164.76 points.

Al Rayan Islamic Index also climbed 0.84% to 3,966.25 points, and the All Share Index advanced 1.13% to 2,827.84 points.

Trading volume rose 18.29% to 9.27 million shares from 7.84 million shares exchanged yesterday. Turnover also increased 8.57% to QAR 379.39 million from QAR 349.57 million.

The consumer goods and services and real estate sectors grew 1.88% and 1.72% respectively, while transportation fell alone by 0.13%.

National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) was the best performing share after adding 5.87%, while Qatari Investors Group topped losers by falling 6.21%.

Alijarah was the largest-traded with a volume of 1.22 million shares exchanged at QAR 20.15 million, whereas Gulf Warehousing made the highest liquidity with QAR 51.33 million after exchanging 824,600 stocks.

The bourse’s main gauge advanced yesterday 0.22% or 22.25 points to the level of 10,031.02 points.
