Qatari stocks extend losses; most sectors down

Qatar-Mubasher: Qatar Exchange (QE) extended its downward trend on Wednesday, with the benchmark falling 0.95% or 100.30 points to 10,511.50 .

Around 3.98 million shares were traded through 3396  transactions at a turnover of nearly QAR 175.43 million ($48.13 million).

The market was pressured by most sectors such as the industrial and banking, said financial analyst Ayoub Eshban.  

He told Mubasher the support levels stand at 10450  and 10500  pts, while the resistance levels stand at 10600 , 10650 and then 10800  pts.

Most sectors moved lower, led by the industrial which dropped 1.44%. Meanwhile, the telecom sector was the only sector which moved higher, rising 0.06%.

Rounding up equities, losers eclipsed gainers 31 to 6, while two stocks closed on a flat note. General Insurance was the top gainer with a rise of 2.66%. Meanwhile, Gulf Warehousing was the big drag, diving 6.83%.

Gulf International was the most active with a traded volume of 892,500 shares and a turnover of more than QAR 45 million.
