Qatari stocks in 3-session bear run

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index closed Wednesday lower 0.85% or 84.18 points to the level of 9,854.85 points, sustaining its losses for the third straight day as sectors and stocks weaken.

Al Rayan Islamic Index and the All Share Index declined by 1.17% and 0.81% respectively.

Trading volume reached 8.83 million shares, versus 8.96 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Turnover came to QAR 298.39 million, versus QAR 317.93 million on Tuesday.

The sector’s dropped collectively, topped by insurance, transportation and industrial with a fall of 1.70%, 1.52% and 0.91% respectively.

Medicare Group topped losers with a 4.11% decline, while Widam Food led gainers by adding 1.37%.

Masraf Al Rayan was the most active stock with a trading volume of 1.22 million shares exchanged at QAR 39.72 million.

The bourse’s main index fell yesterday by 1.52% or 153.04 points to 9,939.03 points.
