Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index ended Sunday’s trading on a negative note after dropping 0.48% or 48.95 points to the level of 10,189.22 points.
Al Rayan Islamic Index also declined 0.77% to 4,023.02 points, and the All Share Index fell 0.38% to 2,847.36 points.
Markets Analyst, Ahmed Aql, told Mubasher that the Qatari bourse was negatively affected by news about the Doha meeting after early gains.
Trading volume decreased by 45.9% to 4.96 million shares from 9.16 million shares exchanged on Thursday.
Turnover also declined 61.6% to QAR 156.12 million from QAR 406.37 million on Thursday.
The bourse’s sectors declined collectively, topped by real estate, industrial and consumer goods sectors with a fall of 0.91%, 0.64% and 0.49% respectively.
Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) was the worst performing shares after dropping 3.07%, while Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance was the best after adding 2.73%.
National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) was the most active share with a trading volume of 1.56 million shares exchanged at QAR 30.05 million through 499 transactions, rising 0.9%.
The bourse’s main gauge closed yesterday with a decline of 0.08% or 7.7 points to the level of 10,238.17 points.
