Qatari stocks shed 83 points at close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined on Monday by 0.82% or 83.63 points to the level of 10,145.39 points.

The All Share Index dropped 0.32% or 9 points to 2,818.48 points, while Al Rayan Islamic Index rose 0.17% or 6.8 points to 3,969.52 points.

Turnover increased rose 35.4% to QAR 370.79 million ($101.8 million) from QAR 273.95 million ($75.24 million) on Sunday.

Trading volume also increased 15.1% to 10.19 million shares exchanged through 4,640 trades, compared to 8.85 million shares exchanged yesterday.

The insurance was the worst performing sector with a fall of 1.3% as Qatar Insurance slid 3.05%.

Meanwhile, the industrial sector rose 0.92%, supported by a rise of 9.98% and 2.33% in Qatari investors group and Qatar Cement respectively.

 Qatari investors group was today’s best performer, while Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution topped losers after shrinking 6.05%.

Masraf Al Rayan was the largest-traded stock with 1.31 million shares exchanged through 167 trades, with a turnover of QAR 46.3 million ($12.71 million).

Gulf Warehousing made the highest liquidity with QAR 47.49 million ($13.04 million) as 764,370 shares were traded through 524 transactions.

The bourse’s main gauge closed yesterday at 10,229.02 points after falling 0.55% or 56.5 points.
