Mubasher: Most Gulf stock markets are expected to see a volatile performance this week, amid anticipations of first-quarter financial announcements and news of new mergers between listed companies, analysts told Mubasher.
Investors are following the quarterly financial disclosures of blue chip companies which will determine the markets’ trend in the coming period, capital market analyst Ines Mguidich stated.
Saudi Arabia's and Dubai’s bourses are expected to rise on Sunday amid news of possible mergers between companies in different sectors. like cement and insurance, due to financial difficulties, Mguidich added.
To be reflected in quarterly financial statements, the difficulties faced by some companies will decrease investors’ appetite until the trend of GCC markets becomes clearer, she noted.
The markets’ current weak liquidity will push investors to be cautious and not to increase their positions, capital market analyst Mohamed Al Azmi told Mubasher.
