Real estate, banks stocks push QSE higher at open

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index rose at Wednesday’s open by 0.05% or 5.54 points to the level of 10,933.37 points.

By 10:15am Doha time, trading volume neared 3 million shares exchanged at QAR 88.42 million.

The real estate stock advanced 0.80% as Barwa leapt 1.27%, the banking sector levelled up 0.11% due to an increase of 0.74% in Masraf Al Rayan.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector declined 0.72%, dragged by a fall of 0.90% in Qatar Insurance and 0.18% in Qatar Islamic Insurance.

Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 786,800 shares, while Medicare Group made the highest turnover of QAR 16.6 million.
