Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Sunday’s trading session in the green, encouraged by the growth of the real estate and the industrial sectors.
By 10:15 am Qatar time, the general index grew 30 points, or 0.33%, to 9,057.79 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 22 million after 1.3 million shares traded through 414 transactions.
The real estate sector topped the QSE’s six gainers adding 1.4% after Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development increased 2.5%, while the industrial sector gained 0.9% as Aamal Company rose 1.61%.
Meanwhile, the transportation was the market’s only decliner losing 0.81%, pressured by the drop of Gulf Warehousing Company and Qatar Gas Transport with 5.3% and 0.23%, respectively.
Widam Food Company’s stock, which advanced 0.42%, topped the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 3.53 million, while Qatar First Bank’s stock which decreased 0.15%, led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 494,610 shares.
