Real estate, services boost QSE at Monday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed in the green on Monday adding 0.46% or 46.1 points to reach 10,110.45 points.

Three sectors rose led by real estate with 4.15% as Ezdan Holding Group grew 6.03% and Barwa Real Estate increased 1.18%.

The services sector gained 0.4% after Medicare Group and Qatar Fuel (Woqod) rose 1.98%, and 0.64%, respectively.

The telecoms sector levelled up 0.15% as Vodafone Qatar went up 0.43% and Ooredoo inched up 0.1%.

On the other hand, four sectors dropped led by the banks sector with 0.88% after Ahli Bank, Qatar National Bank (QNB), and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) declined 4.09%, 1.45%, and 0.9%, respectively.

The industrials sector shed 0.55%, while the insurance and transportation sectors tumbled 0.26% each.

Traded volume decreased to 8.41 million shares on Monday against 11.76 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity dropped to QAR 208.67 million from 223.91 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume with 2.58 million shares, while Ezdan Holding group led in terms of liquidity with QAR 32.42 million.

Earlier on Monday, the benchmark index rose 0.34% reaching 10,098.9 points.
