Real estate pushes ADX up Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) main index closed in the green on Monday pushed by blue chips, marking its second increase in a week.

The main index rose 0.47% or 20.86 points to 4,450.65 points.

The real estate sector grew 1.65% after Manazel Real Estate, Aldar, RAK properties, and Eshraq Properties went up 3.70%, 1.73%, 1.41%, and 1.27%, respectively.

The banks sector added 0.78% after National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) surged 8.11% and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Union National Bank (UNB), and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), grew 0.98%, 0.96%, and 0.70%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the telecommunications sector and its stock Etisalat shed 0.28% each.

Trading volume increased to 217.8 million shares from 159 million shares on Sunday, while trading value grew to AED 200.69 million through 1,871 transactions compared to AED 153.22 million.

Dana Gas was the most actively-traded share in terms of both volume and value, with 64.1 million shares, generating AED 49.1 million.
