Real estate stocks boost ADX on Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a positive note.

The ADX’s general index edged up 7.99 points, or 0.16%, to 5,035.95 points.

Trading volume amounted to 25.86 million shares that were exchanged through 967 transactions at a turnover of AED 65.10 million.

Market capitalisation gained AED 583 million and closed the session at AED 516.08 billion.

The real estate sector increased by 1.34%, followed by the banks, the telecommunication, and the energy sectors that added 0.34%, 0.49%, and 0.08%, respectively.

RAK Insurance’s stock led the winners after jumping by 14.97%, while Gulf Cement’s stock headed the losers after falling by 9.79%.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) was the most active stock by value with a turnover of AED 17.19 million and by volume with 4.82 million traded shares.

Aldar Properties went up 1.51% and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) levelled up by 0.53%.

On the other hand, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) shed 0.39%, followed by Dana Gas and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) which slipped 0.32% and 0.19%, respectively.
