Real estate stocks drive QSE to green at close

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday with a rise of 0.29% or 28.27 points to the level of 9,883.59 points.

The real estate was the best performing sector after increasing 1.31% thanks to a growth of 2.34% in Barwa.

On the other hand, the telecom and insurance sectors fell by 0.6% and 0.56% respectively.

Turnover rose 10.2% to QAR 339.89 million from QAR 308.49 million on Monday.

Trading volume also increased by 12.8% to 8.83 million shares from 7.83 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Qatari Investors topped gainers by adding 6%, while Qatar First Bank (QFB) led decliners after dropping 4.9%.

QFB was the largest-traded stock as 1.37 million shares were exchanged at QAR 17.8 million.

Meanwhile, Investors Group made the highest liquidity of QAR 70 million through exchanging 1.28 million shares.
