Real estate stocks weigh on DFM on Sunday

Dubai – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) levelled down by 1.43% or 38.62 points by the end of Sunday’s trading session, closing at the level of 2,660.16 points.

The bourse’s turnover totalled AED 156.51 million after 145.55 million shares were traded through 1,847 transactions.

The market cap value slipped by AED 4.50 billion to AED 364.79 billion on Sunday compared with AED 369.29 billion in the previous session.

Sector-wise, the real estate index went down by 1.64%, while the consumer staples sector solely inched up by 0.42%.

Ithmaar holding topped the decliners, losing 9.75%, whereas Takaful Emarat – Insurance was the top gainer, adding 11.76%.

Amanat Holdings led the trading activity with 54.50 million shares, registering AED 48.51 million in liquidity.

Meanwhile, blue-chip stocks Arabtec Holding and Emaar Properties edged lower by 2.23% and 1.20%, respectively.
