Red Sea Project to raise conservation 30% in 20 yrs – CEO

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Red Sea Development Company plans to deliver a 30% increase in conservation attempts over the coming 20 years, Al Arabiya reported, citing John Pagano, CEO of the project.

Pagano added that sustainability and conservation are at the heart of the company's The Red Sea Project, noting that the process by which the resort location was chosen as evidence.

“We've done the work in order to identify where we should develop and where we shouldn't develop,” Pagano said on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative 2019 (FII) that was held in Riyadh on Tuesday.

FII is an international platform for expert-led debate between global leaders, investors and innovators with the power to shape the future of global investment.

“If we were to destroy this place, then we would destroy the environment, and the thing that makes this place so special and unique is the environment. We worked extra hard to make sure that we didn't damage it. On the contrary, we sought to actually improve on it,”

The Red Sea Project is considered one of Saudi Arabia’s three mega-projects aimed at boosting its tourism sector announced in October 2017.
