Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances from expatriate Egyptians declined by 6.1% year-on-year during the first nine months of fiscal year 2018/2019, according to official data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Remittances reached $18.21 billion from July 2018 to last March, compared to $19.39 billion in the year-ago period.
Moreover, Egypt's balance of payments (BOP) registered a lower deficit of $351.2 million during the nine-month period ended 31 March, on the back of an overall surplus of $1.4 billion, the CBE added.
