Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances from expatriate Egyptians increased by 5.6 % year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2018, data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed.
Total remittances amounted to around $23.3 billion during the January-November period of 2018, versus $22.1 billion in the same period of 2017, the CBE added in a recent statement.
The CBE had previously announced that total remittance from expatriates hiked to $5.9 billion in the period between July to September 2018, compared to $5.8 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Egypt’s central bank had posted that the country’s international reserves surged to $44.51 billion at the end of November.
