Remittances from Egyptians abroad up 37% in Q1

Cairo - Mubasher: Remittances from expatriate Egyptians rose by 37.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of fiscal year 2017-2018, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Data showed.  

Remittances increased to $5.97 billion during the three-month period that ended on 30 September 2017, compared to $4.35 billion for the same period last year, the CBE said in a statement on Sunday.

Egyptian net international reserves slightly rose to $36.723 billion by the end of November 2017, up from around $36.703 in October.
