Mubasher: Remittances from expatriate workers in Kuwait increased by 3.9% year-on-year in 2018, according to a poll conducted by Mubasher.

Remittances from foreign workers in the oil-rich country reached KWD 4.3 billion ($14.2 billion) last year, versus KWD 4.1 billion ($13.5 billion) in 2017.

The second quarter of 2018 has witnessed the highest value of remittances in Kuwait worth KWD 1.19 billion, while the lowest remittances were made in Q1-18 at a value of KWD 1.03 billion.

It is worth noting that transfers from foreign workers in the GCC state rose last year despite the government’s imposition of fees on expatriate remittances.
