Russia says not to cut oil output

There is little possibility for Russia to slash its production of oil, said Vahid Alakbarov, President of oil firm LUKoil.

Russia, the world's second biggest producer of crude, aims to maintain its production stable till next year, he added.

There are geological and technological factors that make it unlikely for Russia to reduce production, despite repeated calls from OPC member countries to join them in a joint move to boost oil prices, Reuters cited Alakbarov as saying.
