Russia to establish industrial zone in Egypt

Cairo-Mubasher: Egypt is in talks with the UAE and Russia to establish a Russian industrial zone in the East of Port Said.

The zone will include facilities for the manufacturing of trucks as well as agricultural and building equipment, said Minister of Trade Tarek Qabil.

He added that some Russian businessmen will visit Cairo in mid-January 2016 to study the projects that will be carried out in the North African country.

During his visit to the UAE, the minister met with some Russian and UAE officials to carry out Russian projects in Egypt, through the Egyptian-Russian-Emirates fund.

The joint Russian-Egyptian committee will convene in early February to discuss boosting cooperation between the two countries.

Last Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave the go-signal for East Port Said development projects.
