Cairo- Mubasher: Hyundai Rotem has been awarded a $135.3 million contract to supply 48 metro cars (6 trains) for the second line of Cairo Metro.
The contract, signed by Egypt’s National Authority For Tunnels with the South Korean company, includes maintenance of the vehicles until 2031 and delivery of the new air-conditioned trains by 2021, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported.
In 2012, Hyundai Rotem won a contract to supply 180 metro cars for the first line and 265 metro cars for the third line of Cairo Metro.
