S&P affirms Qatari QIB’s rating at 'A-'

Mubasher: Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has affirmed Qatar Islamic Bank’s (QIB) rating at 'A-', .

Our strong capital and being the second largest bank in Qatar has led to the affirmation made by S&P, the bank said in a bourse statement.

“The rating reflects our views of the bank’s robust corporate banking franchise and favorable position as Qatar’s largest Islamic bank,” the global rating agency's report added.

The Qatari bank’s stable funding ratio hit 113.9% by the end of 2017.

The ‘A-‘ rating confirms QIB’s successful implementation of its long-term plans, especially strong performance and growth, CEO of QIB Group Bassel Gamal stated.
