Riyadh – Mubasher: The assets of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) fell in December 2016 by 12.48% to SAR 2.077 trillion ($553.87 billion), versus SAR 2.373 trillion ($633 billion) in December 2015.
The assets decreased on a monthly basis compared to SAR 2.08 trillion ($554.7 billion) for November 2016.
On an annual basis, deposits with banks abroad decreased in December 2016 by 27.4% to SAR 401.14 billion, and investment in foreign securities dropped 9.3% to SAR 1.365 trillion.
Meanwhile, other various assets rose in December 2016 by 5.14% to SAR 41.5 billion, about 2% of SAMA’s total assets.
