Riyadh – Mubasher: The assets of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) fell 12.6% year-on-year in February 2017.
SAMA’s assets reached SAR 2 trillion ($533.38 billion) compared to SAR 2.29 trillion ($611 billion) in February 2016.
The assets decreased 1.38% on a monthly basis compared to SAR 2.03 trillion ($541 billion) in January 2017.
Investment in Foreign Securities levelled down 10% to SAR 1.33 trillion, as these investments represent 66.6% of SAMA’s total assets.
Deposits with banks abroad retreated 28.3% to SAR 356.47 billion, representing 17.8% of SAMA’s total assets.
On the other hand, other miscellaneous assets rose 11.2% to SAR 48.65 billion by the end of February, representing 2.43% of SAMA’s total assets.
