Riyadh – Mubasher: Assets of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) registered SAR 1.81 trillion in July 2020, a dip of 6.13% when compared to SAR 1.93 trillion in the same month in 2019.
On a monthly basis, the assets rose by 0.31% or SAR 5.75 billion last month, compared with June’s level at SAR 1.8 trillion, according to the recent monthly bulletin released by SAMA.
This rise was driven by an increase in the authority’s deposits with banks abroad at SAR 380.18 billion last month, compared to SAR 350.36 billion in June. Meanwhile, investments in foreign securities declined to SAR 1.016 trillion from SAR 1.045 trillion.
Foreign exchange reserve hiked to SAR 274.63 billion in July from SAR 273.73 billion in June while gold reserve remained unchanged at SAR 1.62 billion.
Other miscellaneous assets surged to SAR 110.87 billion in July, compared with SAR 100.37 billion in June.
