SAMI, L3 Technologies to launch joint project in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and L3 Technologies signed an agreement to establish a joint project in the field of Electro-Optical and Infra-Red (EO / IR) technology and special task systems inside the Kingdom, state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The deal was inked on the sidelines of the Paris Air Show, which started on 17 June.

Earlier in February, both companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the same project.

SAMI did not disclose further details about the new project.

It is worth noting that L3 Technologies is an American firm that supplies command and control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and products, avionics, ocean products, training devices and services, instrumentation, aerospace, and navigation products.

It develops advanced defence technologies and commercial solutions in pilot training, aviation security, night vision and EO/IR, weapons, maritime systems, and space.
