Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Railway Company (SAR) is about to meet all the requirements to launch its trains and getting ready for the actual operation by the beginning of 2017, the President of the Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) said.
The northern rail line is established on1,250 kilometres and has six stations: Riyadh, Al-Mujamma’ah, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf and Al-Qurrayat, Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih, SRO president, stated.
SRO president noted, according to a statement on Sunday, that the railway company spent 15 months in the trial operation stage on different speeds reached 220 kilometres per hour.
The company also launched a freight train line to speed up the transfer of the petroleum, agriculture and industrial products to reduce the pressure of the heavy transportation on the main railway network.
